What is an auditor? The first dictionary definition is a person who conducts an audit. The second definition is that of a “listener”. We at R. Wertheim & Co. CPA’s perform audit, review and compilation services for small to medium-sized corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies in the New York metropolitan area. Our firm has always received an unqualified peer review. We meet both definitions of an auditor; we audit, but also listen to the financial statements. The financials tell the reader a story. Sometimes the story is about a small family owned business. Other times the story is about a growing development stage company that is trying to become a mature one.
We at R. Wertheim & Co. CPA’s have heard many stories from our financial statements during our sixteen years as a firm. Many years of good active listening have enabled us to provide great advice to our clients. Our firm started in 1999 as a successor firm to Wertheim & CPA’s. The firm is composed of a small, dedicated group of professionals, all of which are CPA’s and members of the New York State Society of CPA’s. We provide monthly, quarterly, or annual accounting services to suit the needs of our clients.

Our “boutique” CPA firm prepares corporate, partnership, estate, trust and individual tax returns. In addition, we provide tax advisory and consulting services to our clients. We maintain constan contact with our clients to ensure they get the best quality tax services available.

Richard Wertheim, CPA, MBA
Richard Wertheim has worked in the public accounting industry for over 33 years. At the beginning of his career,
Richard worked for a large international CPA firm before moving to his present firm. Over the course of his MBA studies, he specialized in taxation. His specialties include audit, taxation and management services. Professional affiliations include membership in the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Richard Wertheim is licensed to practice in New York.
